Health Officials Record 190 New Dengue Cases Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today reported that they recorded 190 new cases of dengue in the past 24 hours across the country. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a statement detailing the distribution of cases.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DGHS statement revealed that among the new cases, 40 patients were hospitalized in the Barishal division. Additionally, 50 cases were recorded in the Chattogram division, and 27 in the Dhaka division excluding the capital. In Dhaka city, 42 cases were reported in the South City Corporation area, and 21 in the North City Corporation area. The Khulna division saw seven new hospitalizations, while three were reported in the Mymensingh division.



Since the onset of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has recorded 95 deaths and 23,410 cases of infection. Meanwhile, the DGHS noted that 199 patients have been discharged from hospitals across the nation after recovering from the illness.



In comparison, last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and affected 101,214 individuals in Bangladesh.
