Khulna: A joint force of police and army during a drive today arrested two individuals and recovered local weapons and drugs from their possession in Rajapur village of Aichgati union in Rupsa upazila here in the district. The arrestees are Suman Mia, 47, a close associate of alleged drug dealer Sohag, and Sohag’s wife Rani Begum, 30.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the joint force raided Sohag’s residence around 10:30 am and arrested the duo, said Rupsha Police Station officer-in-charge Md Mahfuzur Rahman. The law enforcers seized one homemade pipe gun, a homemade hatchet, two knives, seven packets of cannabis, and a big hookah to smoke cannabis.
Police filed a case under the Arms and Narcotics Control Acts in this regard.
