Inflation Rate in Bangladesh Reaches 8.55% in July 2025

Dhaka: The general point-to-point inflation rate in the country in July, 2025 reached 8.55 percent.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) indicated that the inflation rate was mainly driven by an uptrend in both food and non-food inflation. The general point-to-point inflation rate in June, 2025 was recorded at 8.48 percent.



In July 2025, the point-to-point food inflation was reported at 7.56 percent, an increase from 7.39 percent in June, 2025, as per BBS data. In contrast, May 2025 experienced a decline in point-to-point food inflation to 8.59 percent, down from 8.63 percent in April, 2025.



Furthermore, the non-food inflation rate also showed an increase, reaching 9.38 percent in July, 2025, marginally up from 9.37 percent in June, 2025. The data also highlighted a slight increase in the point-to-point inflation rate in both rural and urban areas last month.
