Khulna: Four new buildings of the Kapilmuni Zafar Aulia Fazil Degree Madrasa, the oldest traditional madrasa in Paikgachha upazila of Khulna district, were inaugurated today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was graced by Anwar Aldin, the chairman of BSS and Joint Editor of Dainik Ittefaq, who served as the chief guest. He marked the inauguration by cutting a ribbon and unveiling the plaques. Upon his arrival, students welcomed him with flowers before he proceeded with the formalities. During his speech, Anwar Aldin mentioned the 31-point outline presented by BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, which details improvements in the educational system, focusing on enhancing education quality and evaluating primary education to build a knowledgeable nation from the grassroots level. Aldin encouraged scholars to oppose societal inconsistencies and misguiding religious edicts. He emphasized his ongoing commitment to collaborating with scholars in Islamic education, asserting that quality educati on is pivotal for fostering an educated nation. He highlighted the madrasa's longstanding role in imparting religious education within the region, stating that madrasas significantly contribute to shaping religious, ethical, and idealistic individuals in society. Aldin criticized the Awami League government for allegedly misleading religious institutions over the past 15 years, claiming that some madrasas became centers of misconduct. The event was presided over by Acting Principal Jamirul Islam. Other notable attendees included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Iftekharul Islam Shamim, Paikgachha Upazila BNP convener Dr. Abdul Majid, journalist and human rights activist Parvez Mohammad, Jamaat leader Abul Kashem, and several others from the educational and local community. The program, conducted by Maulana Al Amin Mahmud, featured a prayer led by Maulana Abul Hossain.
