Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) initiated its ninth commission meeting on Thursday to deliberate on the Representation of the People Order (RPO), 1972 (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, alongside the Political Party and Candidates' Code of Conduct Rules, 2025. The meeting, which commenced at 11 am, took place in the conference room of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and was presided over by CEC A M M Nasir Uddin.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting's agenda focused on finalizing the 2025 electoral code of conduct and assessing the proposed amendments to the RPO, 1972. EC Secretariat Director (Public Relations) M Shariful Alam confirmed these details, emphasizing the significance of these discussions in shaping the upcoming electoral processes.
