Dhaka: Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, and Mahmudullah are likely to participate in this year's NCL T20 tournament during the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) matches. Akram Khan confirmed these developments today, mentioning discussions with the players.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Akram Khan, a former Bangladesh cricket captain, shared insights about the participation of these senior players in the tournament. He revealed that Tamim Iqbal has already expressed his desire to join the competition. Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim, who traditionally plays for the Rajshahi division, has requested to represent the Sylhet division this year. Mahmudullah's involvement seems probable, though the selectors have not officially confirmed his participation.
The three players have retired from international cricket, with Mushfiqur continuing to play only in the Test format. The NCL T20 tournament, inaugurated last year, was well-received and exclusively features local players, offering them a chance to excel in this cricket format.
