July Uprising Day Observed in Riyadh with Solemnity

Riyadh: The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh today observed July Uprising Day with due solemnity, paying tribute to the martyrs and expressing solidarity with their families. The programme, held at the embassy auditorium, included a discussion session and a screening of a documentary highlighting the historic events of the July Uprising.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, messages from the President and the Chief Adviser were read out during the event, which was attended by embassy officials, staff members, dignitaries, Bangladeshi students, and members of the expatriate community.



Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Md Delwar Hossain presided over the event. In his remarks, he said the spirit of the July Uprising must be upheld to build a just, corruption-free, and discrimination-free society. He also expressed appreciation for the contribution of Bangladeshi expatriates, noting that their remittances play a vital role in sustaining the country’s economy.



The ambassador urged the expatriate community to stay united on national issues and send remittances through legal channels. Special prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for the martyrs of the July Uprising and continued peace, progress, and prosperity for Bangladesh, the release added.
