Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam has stated that the highly anticipated July Proclamation will be officially announced by August 5.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahfuj Alam expressed his gratitude on his verified Facebook page, acknowledging the efforts of those who have kept the issue at the forefront of public interest, thus facilitating its implementation. He emphasized the reality of the proclamation and its imminent announcement.

The July Proclamation has been a central topic in the political landscape since the ousting of the Awami League government following a student-led mass movement on August 5 of the previous year. In light of this, the government has distributed the final draft of the proclamation to various political entities, including BNP, Jamaat, and the National Citizen Party (NCP), seeking their input and recommendations.

Earlier, on July 25, NCP Convener Nahid Islam reaffirmed his party’s commitment to achieving the objectives of the July charter and the proclamation by the impending deadline of August 5. This is part of the NCP’s broader movement advocating for reforms, justice, and the establishment of a new constitution.
