Dhaka: BNP senior joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today highlighted the significance of the July revolution, describing it as the awakening of the youth spirit and a harbinger of new politics in the country. Rizvi made these remarks at the ‘July Uprising Book Fair-2025’ held at Bangla Academy this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi emphasized the profound importance of the July revolution, noting that it emerged from a backdrop of repression faced by those involved in democratic movements over the past sixteen years. These individuals endured hardships such as arrest warrants and remand, which spurred the revolution.
Rizvi noted that the nation yearned for governance aligned with the people’s hopes and aspirations, a desire that remained unfulfilled. He criticized the government for spreading propaganda over the years and attempting to control the populace’s mindset, asserting that the young generation recognized the truth and initiated a movement against this misrule.
