RAB Rescues Abducted Girl, Arrests Kidnapper from N’ganj

Narayanganj: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued a kidnapped adolescent girl of Lalmonirhat and arrested the main accused from the Lal Kharu area under Fatullah Police Station of Narayanganj district. The operation was conducted efficiently, resulting in the safe recovery of the victim and the apprehension of the suspect.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested kidnapper is Md Ekramul Haque, 22, son of Noor Mohammad of village Goddimari under Hatibandha Police Station of Lalmonirhat district. A press release issued today detailed the events surrounding the arrest and rescue.



On a tip-off, a joint team of RAB-13 and RAB-11’s Narayanganj Camp conducted a raid in the Lal Kharu area. The operation took place under the jurisdiction of Fatullah Police Station in Narayanganj. The team arrested the main accused and rescued the victim at 10:40 pm on Thursday.



The elite force has since handed over the arrested accused and the rescued victim to Hatibandha Police Station in Lalmonirhat. The coordination between different RAB units proved effective in resolving the case swiftly.



Earlier, on June 22, 2025, the arrested individual, along with accomplices, forcibly kidnapped the teenage girl from her village. The incident occurred at 8 pm when she stepped out of her house amidst challenging weather conditions and power outages.



Following the abduction, the victim’s father filed a kidnapping case with Hatibandha Police Station on June 25, 2025. The timely intervention by RAB highlights the importance of swift action and coordination in handling such cases.
