Manikganj: Police arrested an Awami League couple from their residence in the Manikganj Bazaar area early today. The arrestees are Shirin Aktar, 37, a leader of the Mohila Awami League, and her husband Shafiqul Islam, 48, a former leader of Chhatra League and Jubo League.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Sadar Police Station SM Aman Ullah stated that the couple was detained from their residence around 12:30 am. OC Aman Ullah further mentioned that “they will be produced before the court for the next course of legal action.”
