Dhaka: The Ministry of Land (MoL) has initiated a proposal to change the designations of field-level land officials. This step was undertaken following a decision made in an inter-ministerial meeting on January 30. On July 27, the MoL sent the new proposal to the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the proposal outlines title changes for the Union Land Assistant Officer and Union Land Sub-Assistant Officer to Land Assistant Officer and Land Sub-Assistant Officer, respectively. Deputy Secretary of MoL Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain explained that this change in the recruitment rules would allow the same officials to be posted across union, municipal, or metropolitan land offices.
Hossain further noted that this initiative aims to resolve confusion or complications arising from the existing titles. Importantly, the change will not impose any additional financial burden regarding salaries and allowances.
