Dhaka: Bangladesh A team is set to leave the country on August 7 to take part in the Top End T20 series in Australia. This marks Bangladesh's second appearance in the tournament, which is recognized as a prominent event featuring teams from the Big Bash T20 league, along with Pakistan A and the Nepal National team.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tournament is scheduled to commence on August 14 in Darwin, the capital city of Australia's Northern Territory. Initially, Bangladesh A was planned to depart on August 9, but the revised schedule has necessitated changes in their domestic preparation plans.
The team members have been stationed in Chattogram for the past month, preparing for the series. They were scheduled for three practice matches against the High Performance team. The first match is currently underway, with the subsequent matches set for August 1 and 3, all to be played under lights in Chattogram.
This series holds significance as it provides valuable insights into Australian conditions, which will be crucial since the Bangladesh national team is scheduled to visit Australia next year for the first time in nearly two decades.
