Rajshahi: Managers, coaches, and players of national taekwondo, inter-university basketball, and cricket competitions were awarded blazers and prizes for their performance in these competitions. Rajshahi University (RU) administration organized the prize-giving ceremony at its senate building today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the event, the Physical Education and Sports Science department secured the champion trophy, while the department of psychology took home the runner-up trophy. Additionally, 62 students were awarded blazers for their participation in the sports meets.
The distribution of prizes was conducted by Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib, accompanied by Pro-VCs Prof Farid Uddin Khan and Prof Main Uddin, Treasurer Prof Matiar Rahman, and Director of Physical Education Department Roksana Begum. Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib emphasized the role of sports as a representation of national identity and the importance of upholding tradition and dignity.

Naquib addressed the past issues of chaos and violence in sports arenas, stating that such incidents will no longer be tolerated in any form.
