Dhaka: An HSC examinee died from a snakebite at Srikantpur village of Sadar upazila here. The deceased was Shaon Sikder, 19, son of Badsha Shikder of the same area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a snake bit Shaon near his house around 8 pm. Initially, he received local treatment, but as his condition worsened, he was transported to Magura 250-bed hospital around 11.30 pm, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Magura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ayub Ali confirmed the incident. He stated that the body was handed over to Shaon's family members.
