Dhaka: Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser at the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, today emphasized that the youth, comprising 60 percent of Bangladesh's population, are the primary driving force behind the country's digital transformation.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Taiyeb made these remarks while presenting a paper titled "Bangladesh's Growing Potential and Investment Environment in the Global Digital Economy" at the L3AD.net Digital Innovation Summit 2025, held at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital. He highlighted key government initiatives, including ICT infrastructure development, startup investment, cybersecurity, and forthcoming national policies on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and blockchain.
Taiyeb announced plans to establish 10 innovation hubs in partnership with 10 universities across Bangladesh. Additionally, he revealed an initiative aimed at digitizing the country's literary and cultural heritage, which aims to support the development of AI-based Bengali language models.
Calling for collaboration, Taiyeb urged leading institutions, researchers, and technology entrepreneurs to contribute actively to the upcoming national policy formulation process. "A collective effort is needed to shape the future of a smart, inclusive, and innovative Bangladesh," he stated.
The summit gathered key figures in the digital and tech sectors, including BIMRAD Director General Commodore Syed Misbah Uddin Ahmed, BluePie Solutions CEO Akhtar Uzzaman, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited MD and CEO Imadur Rahman, Logging-in.com Program Manager Md. Farhad Kabir, and Thriving Skitish Founder and CEO Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud, among others.
