Dhaka: In the nationwide ongoing operations, 1,620 more crime suspects were arrested in the last 24 hours. In accordance with the Police Headquarters press release, these arrests form part of a larger crackdown on crime suspects across the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, out of the total arrests, 1,049 individuals were apprehended in connection with previous cases and pending warrants. Meanwhile, 571 others were detained on various criminal charges. The operation aims to ensure public safety and address outstanding legal matters, as stated by the authorities.
During the operations, law enforcement officials seized several weapons, including one foreign shutter gun, one local pipe gun made of iron, two cartridges, two bullets of a pistol, and one knife. These seizures highlight the ongoing efforts to tackle illegal arms and related criminal activities in the region.
