Dhaka: Woman swimmer Mst Eny Akter and swimmer Samiul Islam Rafi will participate in the 22nd edition of the World Aquatics Championships, currently taking place in Singapore. Eny, accompanied by coach Md Niaz Ali, departed from Dhaka for Singapore earlier today, while Rafi is set to join them after traveling from Bangkok. This information was shared by Bangladesh Swimming Federation General Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shaheen.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the championship commenced on July 11 and will run until August 3. Following the conclusion of the event, the Bangladeshi swimmers are scheduled to return home on August 4. The championship is hosting over 2,500 athletes from 205 countries. Notably, Singapore is the first Southeast Asian nation to host the World Championships.
