Chuadanga: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized a foreign-made pistol, a magazine, and three bullets from Goalpara village under Jibannagar upazila of the district this morning. Acting on a tip-off, a team from Notunpara Border Outpost (BOP) under Maheshpur BGB-58 Battalion conducted a raid at the village and recovered the firearm and ammunition from a brick kiln around 6 am, said a press release issued by BGB-58 Battalion at noon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was initiated based on credible intelligence, leading to the successful recovery of the illegal items. The seized firearm and ammunition were promptly handed over to Jibannagar Police Station for further investigation and necessary legal action. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by the BGB to combat illegal arms trafficking in the region.
