Faridpur: Three people were killed and 25 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in the Karimpur area under Sadar upazila of the district this morning. The deceased were identified as bus driver Sabu Sheikh, son of Manik Sheikh of Kershail village in Boalmari upazila, and passenger Abdul Mannan. The identity of a deceased woman could not be confirmed immediately.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 10 am on the Dhaka-Khulna highway. A Magura-bound bus collided head-on with another bus, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including the unidentified woman, who died on the spot. Additionally, 25 others sustained injuries in the crash.
Faridpur Superintendent of Police Abdul Jalil reported that the injured were promptly rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for treatment. The collision has raised concerns about road safety in the area, prompting authorities to investigate the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
