Kushtia: Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Markfield Institute of Higher Education, UK, aiming to enhance cooperation in higher education and research.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the MoU was signed on July 21 at the Markfield Institute campus near Leicester, United Kingdom. The agreement was formalized by IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah and Markfield Institute Rector Dr Zahid Parvez, representing their respective institutions in the signing ceremony.
The event was attended by Barrister Asaduzzaman, General Secretary of the Islamic University Alumni Association, UK, Dr Farooq Murad, Director of Islamic Foundation Leicester, and former IU faculty member Delowar Hossain, among others. This agreement sets the foundation for collaboration on joint research initiatives, student and faculty exchange programs, and the implementation of academic projects.
Following the signing, Prof Dr Nakib and Dr Zahid offered presentations showcasing the strengths and ongoing academic endeavors of their institutions, underscoring the potential for fruitful collaboration under the new agreement.
