Dhaka: Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (Rtd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain today stated that the government has been providing necessary assistance to the families affected by the fighter jet crash in Uttara.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a specialized medical team from Singapore has arrived in Dhaka and is offering advanced treatment to the seriously burnt and injured patients.
The adviser made these remarks during his visit to the Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to assess the condition of those injured in the jet crash. Several injured students, teachers, and rescue team members are receiving treatment at the hospital. Dr Sakhawat interacted with the injured patients and directed the concerned authorities to ensure they receive the highest level of medical care.
He also checked on the condition of patients injured during last year's July mass upsurge. Describing the Uttara aircraft crash as a painful incident for the entire nation, Dr Sakhawat paid tribute to the deceased and prayed for the eternal peace of their souls. He expressed deep sympathy to the families of the deceased and injured and wished for their speedy recovery, emphasizing the need for the best treatment facilities for the burn patients.
The adviser mentioned that all necessary measures would be taken by the government to prevent such accidents in the future. Senior officials of the CMH and specialized physicians accompanied the adviser during his visit.
