Rangpur: A day-long seminar focusing on higher education and research opportunities in Norway was organized at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) today. The BRUR Scholarship Support Office hosted the event in the virtual classroom of Academic Building-2 at the university.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, students from various departments at BRUR participated in the seminar. The event featured Nishat Arefin Mondal, a PhD researcher at the University of Inland Norway, who discussed in detail the aspects of pursuing higher education and research in Norway.
The seminar was graced by the presence of the university's Vice-chancellor, Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali, who attended as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the administration's commitment to enhancing the skill set of BRUR students beyond traditional academic studies.
The Vice-chancellor emphasized that Norwegian educational institutions are highly sought after by students globally for their advanced higher education and research programs. He expressed confidence that the seminar would aid BRUR students in discovering educational opportunities in Norway.
Furthermore, he encouraged students to engage in research activities alongside their academic achievements to transform Begum Rokeya University into a merit-based institution.
