Uttara: A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed in the capital's Uttara area this afternoon, leaving one person dead. The incident has raised concerns over aviation safety and prompted a swift response from emergency services.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft took off at 1:06 PM and subsequently crashed within the Milestone College compound in Uttara. The Fire Service and Civil Defence reported that the crash resulted in one fatality and left four individuals injured. The injured were airlifted by a Bangladesh Air Force helicopter to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for immediate treatment.
Eight fire service units from various stations, including Uttara, Tongi, Pallabi, Kurmitola, Mirpur, and Purbachal, participated in the rescue operation. Their prompt actions were crucial in controlling the situation and providing necessary assistance.
Additionally, two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were deployed at the crash site to aid in rescue efforts and ensure law and order were maintained in the area, highlighting the collaborative response to this tragic event.
