Dhaka: The government has directed MRT authorities to utilize metro trains for the swift transportation of injured individuals from the aircraft crash site in Uttara to the National Burn Institute. This initiative aims to expedite medical assistance and provide immediate relief to those affected by the tragic incident.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, officials have stated that one coach of each metro train has been designated specifically for the transportation of injured persons. The metro service is seen as a fast, secure, air-conditioned, and time-efficient means of transporting the injured and their attendants, all at no cost.
The aircraft, belonging to the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), crashed into a building of Milestone School and College in the capital's Uttara at approximately 1:18 pm, resulting in the deaths of at least 19 students and causing injuries to 60 others. The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft's takeoff at 1:06 pm, as reported by the ISPR.
