Dhaka: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed his party's aspiration to construct a 'Rainbow State' by embracing every segment of society and reconciling divergent opinions. He emphasized the importance of unity amidst varying ideologies and approaches to progress, whether it be democracy, socialism, or a welfare state.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BNP secretary general made these remarks during the inauguration of a tree plantation program organized by Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. Fakhrul Islam underscored that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has long envisioned the reunification of the nation across different political groups, aiming for reform and national unity.
He addressed the concerns of a bereaved father of a July martyr regarding the country's unsettled political landscape, asserting the party's commitment to establishing a liberal democratic 'New Bangladesh' devoid of corruption, bribery, violence, and oppression. Fakhrul Islam articulated the party's vision of a state where citizens can enjoy freedom and comfort.
He also expressed optimism about the leadership of acting chairman Tarique Rahman, who he believes is guiding the party towards realizing this inclusive and progressive vision for the nation.
