Bagerhat: Members of the Forest Department today arrested two individuals with venison during a raid on a passenger bus at Baburhat Bazar area of Mathbaria in the district. The detainees were identified as A Salam, 40, son of Jonab Ali from Kachua Thana, and Md Jakaria, 25, of Sannyashi village under Morelganj Thana.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bagerhat East Forest Department officer Rezaul Karim stated that acting on a tip-off, a team conducted a raid on a 'Rajib Paribahan' bus and recovered the deer meat from the suspects. A case has been filed with the concerned police station in this regard.
