Weeklong Documentary Screening Inaugurated at Film Archive on July Uprising

Dhaka: A weeklong documentary screening has been inaugurated at the Bangladesh Film Archive to mark the anniversary of the July Mass Uprising. Director General of the Bangladesh Film Archive, Md. Abdul Jalil, inaugurated the documentary screening today, as per a press release.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the documentaries on the July Mass Uprising will be shown for school and college students at the projection hall of the Film Archive until July 21. The event aims to engage the youth with the historical significance of the uprising.



On the first day of the weeklong screening, three documentaries were presented: “Shrabon Bidroho” (Monsoon Rebellion), produced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; “Shomoyer Bir Shaheed Tanvir” (Martyr Tanvir: Hero of the Time), produced by the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute (BCTI); and “The Monsoon Revolution,” produced by the Bangladesh Film Archive.



The event drew approximately 200 participants, including teachers and students from Global School and College. During the inaugural ceremony, Abdul Jalil emphasized the importance of this initiative in spreading the spirit of the July Mass Uprising among the youth.



He urged the younger generation to embrace the ideals of the uprising and contribute toward building a discrimination-free Bangladesh.
