Dhaka: Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul announced today that the Malaysian government will now issue multiple entry visas for Bangladeshi workers. This development marks a significant change in the visa policy for Bangladeshi nationals employed in Malaysia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Asif Nazrul shared the news on his verified Facebook page, expressing optimism for Bangladeshi workers currently in Malaysia. He revealed that the change comes after a series of discussions with Malaysian officials, including a meeting with the Malaysian Home Minister during a visit to Malaysia in May. During these discussions, it was highlighted that Bangladeshi workers were receiving single entry visas, unlike workers from other countries who were granted multiple entry visas. This discrepancy prompted the Malaysian Home Minister to instruct officials to address the matter.
Dr Asif Nazrul, who also serves as the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser, stated that consistent communication with Malaysian authorities led to the confirmation of the new visa policy. He further mentioned that a Bangladeshi delegation is currently in Malaysia and another delegation will visit next month, expressing hope for more positive developments in the future.
