Rangpur: Proprietor of Messer’s Janata Trading of Rangpur, Emdadul Hossain Emdad, has been elected as the new president of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RpCCI) for the 2025-2027 tenure. Alongside Emdadul Hossain, other key positions have been filled, with Monjur Ahmed Azad of Messer’s M K Traders elected as the senior vice-president, and Md Enamul Haque of Messer’s Modern Jewelers and Md Zulfiqar Aziz Khan of Messer’s Beauty Hardware and Tools elected as vice-presidents.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the announcement was made by Md Sarwar Morshed, Chairman of the RpCCI Election Board for 2025-2027, who also serves as the senior vice-president and manager of the Rangpur Branch of National Bank Limited. The announcement took place at the RpCCI boardroom on Monday, where it was noted that there were no competing candidates for the four posts, ensuring a smooth election process.
The new executive committee of RpCCI comprises 21 directors, with 14 hailing from the General Group, six from the Associate Group, and one from the Trade Group. The elected directors from the General Group include Partha Bose, Md Obaidur Rahman Ratan, Khandaker Mahmud Elahi (Biplob), Md Kamal Hossain, Md Mamunur Rashid, Md Touhid Hossain, Md Saiful Alam, Ashraful Alam, Alhaj Md Abdul Halim, Md Azizul Haque, Md Shariful Islam, Md Harun-or-Rashid, Md Taifur Rahman, and Md Shafiqul Islam Mithu.
The Associate Group directors are Pranoy Banik, Khemchand Somani (Robi), Md Shafiqul Islam Mona, Md Rashidus Sultan Bablu, Md Abdullahel Kafi (Dudu), and Golam Ahmed Abdul Mukit. Additionally, Md Wasim Bari Raj, General Secretary of Rangpur District Motor Owners Association, was elected unopposed as the representative Director of RpCCI from the Trade Group.
