Sherpur: Three madrasa students lost their lives in a road crash in the Rangtia area under Jhenaigati upazila. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, leaving the community in mourning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic accident claimed the lives of Md. Sakibul Islam, 9, Md. Zakaria Hossain, 10, and Md. Amin Mia, 9. All three were students at the Hefz Department of Rangtia Markazut Taqwa Madrasa and residents of the same locality. The crash happened around 7 pm when a microbus lost control and struck the students, leading to their critical injuries.
M Al-Amin, the officer-in-charge of Jhenaigati Police Station, reported that the injured children were initially taken to Jhenaigati Upazila Health Complex. They were subsequently transferred to Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared Sakibul and Zakaria deceased, as confirmed by Dr. Anika Afrin Proma from the hospital's Emergency Department.
Amin was initially referred to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital but was later moved to Dhaka due to worsening conditions. Unfortunately, Amin succumbed to his injuries during the transfer to Dhaka at 2 am.
