Faridpur: Two 'Land Service Support Centers' have been inaugurated in Faridpur district to offer 13 land-related services directly to residents, aiming to minimize harassment and streamline access to government services. The new centers are situated at Faridpur High School Market and Sonali Bank intersection areas in the town and were officially opened this afternoon by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ramanand Pal.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the inauguration event saw the presence of key officials, including Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Israt Jahan, and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Shafiqul Islam, among others. These centers are part of a broader initiative, with plans to establish a total of 27 centers across various upazilas in the district, including the district headquarters, in a phased manner.
Ramanand Pal emphasized that the establishment of these centers is a strategic move to bring essential land-related services closer to the people of the district. The centers are designed to offer services such as land development tax payment, name registration applications, ledger applications, and mouza map applications, all at a prescribed fee to ensure accessibility without harassment.
By providing these services locally, the centers are expected to significantly ease the process for residents seeking government land services, thereby enhancing efficiency and reducing bureaucratic obstacles.
