Dhaka: As part of the month-long July revival programme marking the anniversary of the July Uprising, a series of cultural events including a film screening, performance of July songs, and a drone show will be held at the Central Shaheed Minar premises today at 6 pm. The Cultural Affairs Ministry is set to organize these events.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the evening will commence with the national anthem, followed by the screening of a television commercial produced by the Women and Children Affairs Ministry, which pays homage to the martyred women of July. The event will then feature films titled “You Failed to Kill Abrar Fahad,” “July Women,” and “July Bishad Sindhu,” all produced by the Cultural Affairs Ministry.
The programme will include remembrances of the women from the July martyr families and the female fighters of the July Uprising. Artistes Sayan, Parsa Mahzabin, and Elita Karim, along with bands Ella La La, F Minor, and Samageet, will perform July songs to honor the occasion.
Following the musical performances, a drone show depicting the July Uprising and its Prelude will be showcased. The event will conclude with a symbolic echo of resistance, the roar of the July girls, reverberating from various halls of Dhaka University. Participation from women across educational institutions, including teachers and students from schools, colleges, and universities, is especially encouraged.
