Another Arrest Made in Case of Former Jubodal Leader Mahbub’s Murder

Khulna: Police have arrested another youth from the Telegati area of Daulatpur thana in the city early today for his alleged involvement in the murder of ex-Jubodal leader Mahbubur Rahman Molla. The arrestee was identified as Alauddin, 22, son of Nurul Islam, a resident of the Moheshwarpasha area under Daulatpur Thana.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, earlier, police arrested one Sazol, 27, son of Saheb Ali, a resident of the same area, in connection with the case. OC of Daulatpur thana Mir Atahar Ali stated that Alauddin was the informer of the killers of Mahbub. He provided the killers with the information about Mahbub’s whereabouts before his murder.



Following the confessional statement of Sajal, a police team arrested Alauddin from the Telegati Moheswarpasha area around 12:30 am. As per Alauddin’s information, the three killers conducted the operation against Mahbubur when he was cleaning his private car in front of his residence in the West Moheshwarpasha area on July 11.



Mahbub was hit by nine bullets, and the attackers also severed the tendons of both his legs to confirm his death. A day after the murder, Mahbub’s father filed a case with Daulatpur police station against unidentified persons.
