Rangpur: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two individuals with 154 kg of ganja in the Mahiganj area of Rangpur metropolis early today. On receiving a tip-off, a team from RAB-13 established a checkpoint at Nabdiganj Bazar on the Rangpur-Kurigram highway, where they intercepted a truck carrying a substantial quantity of smuggled ganja. The arrests occurred at 12:30 am, as noted in a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals are identified as Rabiul Islam, 30, from Dakshin Krishnapur village under Phulbari police station in Dinajpur district, and Md Shakil Ahmed alias Hridoy, 21, from Prannath Patikapara village under Hatibandha police station in Lalmonirhat district. The RAB has handed over the arrestees, along with the seized ganja and truck, to the Mahiganj police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police for further legal proceedings.
