Dhaka: Bangladesh have slipped one step down to 184th in the latest FIFA ranking published today. World champions Argentina retained their top position in the ranking.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh played two matches in the June window. The team, led by Jamal Bhuyan, beat Bhutan 2-0 in a friendly match but later lost 1-2 to Singapore in a crucial home match of the Asian Cup qualifiers. A victory against Singapore could have positively impacted their ranking.
Among other Asian countries, India slipped six steps to 133rd, Maldives fell seven steps to 171st, Nepal slipped one step to 176th, Bhutan fell four steps to 186th, and Pakistan slipped three steps to 201st.
