Dhaka: The Ministry of Commerce has taken decisive steps by appointing administrators to the Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association and the Bangladesh Acid Merchant Association. Separate office orders, signed by Mohammed Rehan Uddin, Director General (current charge) of the Trade Organization Wing under the Ministry of Commerce, were issued to this effect.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the orders detail that Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Shaila Yasmin, has been appointed as the Administrator of the Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association. Concurrently, Deputy Secretary Md. Abdul Malek has been appointed as the Administrator of the Bangladesh Acid Merchant Association, as stated in a press release from the Ministry of Commerce.
The release further explains that Shaila Yasmin is tasked with conducting a free and fair election within 120 days for the concerned Association. Upon completing this task, she is required to hand over responsibilities to the newly elected committee and report back to the Ministry. Similarly, Md. Abdul Malek will oversee the election process for the Bangladesh Acid Merchant Association, ensuring it is conducted fairly within the same timeframe, and subsequently inform the Ministry upon transferring responsibilities to the elected members.
