Cumilla Board Records 63.60% Pass Rate in SSC Exam

Cumilla: The pass rate of Cumilla Education Board in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for 2025 is 63.60 percent, with 9,902 students achieving a GPA-5.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, girls outperformed boys in both the pass rate and the number of students securing GPA-5. Female students had a pass rate of 64.26 percent, while the pass rate for male students was slightly lower at 62.69 percent. Among those who achieved GPA-5, 5,495 were female students, compared to 4,407 male students.



A total of 1,67,572 students sat for the SSC and equivalent exams under the Cumilla Board this year. Of these, 69,838 were boys and 97,734 were girls. Overall, 1,06,581 students successfully passed the examinations.



Board Chairman Professor Md. Shamsul Islam formally announced the results. Present during the announcement were board secretary Professor Khondaker Sadekur Rahman, controller of examinations Professor Runa Nasrin, deputy controller of examinations (secondary) Md. Kabir Uddin Ahmed, deputy controller of examinations Kazi Apon Tibrani, deputy director of the accounts and audit branch Md. Shahjahan, deputy secretary Masum Millat, and other concerned officials.



A total of 10,799 educational institutions participated in this year’s examinations. Among these, 22 institutions achieved a 100 percent pass rate, while one institution recorded a zero pass rate.



Compared to the previous year, the board has seen a decline in performance. In 2024, the pass rate was 79.23 percent, with 12,100 students securing GPA-5.
