Dhaka: The joint forces arrested six members of a juvenile gang with country-made weapons from Hamidia Jute Mills area in Hajiganj upazila of the district early this morning. The arrested were identified as Rabiul Ahmed, 21, Mainuddin Khan, 25, Billal Kazi, 24, Kazi Palash, 20, Hridoy Hossain, 23, and Shafiqul Islam, 22, residents of the same area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a joint force team conducted a drive in the area around 3 am based on a tip-off, leading to the arrest of the gang members. The operation resulted in the seizure of four knives, a Chinese axe, and three locally made weapons. Lt. Manjurul Hasan Khan, operational officer of Chandpur Army Camp, confirmed the details of the operation.
The detainees, along with the seized weapons, were handed over to Hajiganj Police Station for further legal proceedings. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the activities of the gang and the source of the weapons.
