Washington dc: The first day of the second round of three-day tariff talks between Bangladesh and the United States ended in Washington DC on Wednesday. The discussions were extensive, addressing nearly all major aspects of the trade relationship between the two countries, according to a message received here this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin led the Bangladesh delegation in Washington DC. National Security Adviser Dr. Khalilur Rahman, and the Chief Adviser's Special Assistant on ICT and Telecommunications, Faiz Ahmed Tayeb, participated in the talks virtually from Dhaka. Senior Commerce Ministry officials were also present at the meeting in the US capital.
Senior US officials from various agencies, including agriculture, energy, commerce, and copyrights, attended the meeting. The talks are set to resume at 9pm Bangladesh time on Thursday, with further discussions scheduled for Friday.
