Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a warning predicting heavy rainfall in five divisions over the next 24 hours starting from 10 am today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BMD's Storm Warning Center has highlighted that the active Southwest Monsoon is expected to bring heavy (44-88mm in 2-4 hours) to very heavy rainfall (more than 88mm in 24 hours) in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. The warning, issued this morning, indicates the likelihood of significant precipitation in these areas.
The warning further cautions that due to the intense rainfall, there is a risk of landslides occurring in the hilly regions of the Chattogram division.
