Satkhira: A woman lost her life after being electrocuted at Sonakhali village in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Arifa Rupban, aged 55, who was the wife of Zahur Ali Mollah, a resident of the same village. The tragic incident occurred around 12:30 PM when Arifa became entangled in an electric trap that had been set up to control a rat infestation at a local chicken farm.
Locals immediately came to her aid and transported her to the Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex. However, despite their efforts, she could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the health facility.
Md. Humayon Kabir Molla, the Officer-in-Charge of Shyamnagar Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that further legal actions are underway.
