Dhaka: Youth and Sports and LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain announced that the ongoing ‘Youth Festival’, aimed at building a new Bangladesh by energizing the youth, will continue until December 31, 2025. This announcement was made during a review meeting of the National Committee on the Implementation of the Youth Festival-2025 held at the Ministry of Public Administration’s conference room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Asif Mahmud chaired the meeting, which included representatives from 25 relevant ministries, such as the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. The adviser assessed the festival’s progress and provided guidelines to ensure its smooth and comprehensive execution.
Asif Mahmud mentioned plans to expand the festival internationally by involving regional organizations such as SAARC, and a policy decision has been made to organize a “Global Youth Summit”. The festival began on December 30, 2024, under the theme “Esho Desh Bodlai, Prithibi Bodlai (Let’s Change the Country and Change the World)” and has been celebrated nationwide with significant enthusiasm.
The festival, according to organizers, is fostering unity, cooperation, and self-employment among the youth, developing them into valuable assets for the country. Although initially set to conclude on February 19, a government decision extended it to December 31, 2025.
In its first phase, 71,66,473 youth participated in various programs across the country, including 27,42,171 women. Out of 13,711 events organized, 2,931 were sports and cultural events for women. Notably, an U-17 football tournament is being held from the union to the divisional level, managed by the District Sports Office under the Sports Directorate’s supervision.
‘Youth Festival 2025′, an initiative of the Chief Adviser’s Office, is being implemented under the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ leadership in collaboration with 26 ministries. For participation and updates, visit (https://youth.cao.gov.bd).
