Dhaka: The first group of Bangladeshi nationals seeking repatriation from conflict-hit Iran arrived in Dhaka today, as part of ongoing efforts by the government to ensure the safe return of its citizens.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 28 Bangladeshis, who had previously reached Pakistan by road, arrived in Bangladesh from Karachi by air today. This development was confirmed in a statement released by the foreign ministry.
This group of Bangladeshis had managed to safely cross into Pakistan on June 27 after traveling by road from Iran. The Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran, in collaboration with Pakistani authorities, facilitated the movement of these nationals and arranged for their return home.
The government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Bangladeshi nationals abroad, particularly during times of crisis, by employing active diplomatic channels and support mechanisms.
