Dhaka: The government has standardized the fee for a dengue test at both public and private hospitals, setting it at Taka 50. This decision aims to make dengue testing more accessible to the public, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder timely diagnosis and treatment.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued two separate notifications today to formalize this pricing structure. The notifications emphasize that private hospitals must adhere to this government-mandated rate, and any deviation will attract strict action.
The DGHS had initially set the price for dengue tests in January for a six-month period. This recent order extends the fixed pricing until December 2025, reinforcing the government’s commitment to controlling the spread of dengue through affordable testing.
