Final Round of National Men’s Volleyball Inaugurated

Dhaka: The final round of the national volleyball competition, comprising the 30th men's and 25th women's tournaments, commenced at the Shaheed Noor Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in the capital today. Faruque Hasan, the president of the Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) and board of trustees chairman of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology, officially inaugurated the event as the chief guest.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the inauguration ceremony also saw the presence of Mirza Sifat-e Khoda, director of sports and culture at Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, as the special guest. Other notable attendees included BVF vice president Md Masudul Haque, general secretary Bimal Ghosh Bhulu, joint secretary Abdul Mumin Saddam, and treasurer Imran Haider Kanchan.

On the inaugural day of the men's section matches, Bangladesh Navy triumphed over Bogura district with a 3-0 set victory, while Bangladesh Power Development Board secured a 3-0 set win against Kushtia district. In the women's section, Bangladesh Police defeated Satkhira district by a 3-0 set margin.

The competition, organized by BVF, features ten men's teams divided into three groups and six women's teams split into two groups, competing over five days. The men's teams are divided as follows: Group A includes Power Development Board, Dhaka, Kushtia, and Rajshahi districts; Group B consists of Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan, and Bogura district; Group C comprises Bangladesh Air Force, Titas Gas and Transmission, and Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party.

In the women's section, the teams are organized as follows: Group A features Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party, Rajshahi, and Jashore districts, while Group B includes Bangladesh Police, Chattogram, and Satkhira districts.
