13 New Covid-19 Cases Detected in Chattogram

Chattogram: The port city has reported 13 more Covid-19 cases out of 193 tests conducted in the last 24 hours in the district. With these new cases, the total number of Coronavirus cases in Chattogram has reached 112 in the past 18 days, according to Dr. Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram, who spoke to BSS.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Jahangir Alam mentioned that Coronavirus tests are currently being conducted in 12 different laboratories, including the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) RT-PCR lab. Currently, 91 infected patients are undergoing treatment at various designated hospitals in the area.



Out of the total 112 infected individuals, 101 are residents of the port city, while the remaining 11 are from different upazilas. So far, six people have died in the Chattogram district due to the virus. Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that the Health Department is prepared to prevent the further spread of the infection.



He urged all residents to avoid crowds and consistently wear masks to curb the virus’s transmission.
