Gopalganj: A 60-year-old man was killed in a road accident in the Bhatiapara area under Kashiani upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was identified as Zahirul Sheikh, a resident of Joypur village under Lohagara upazila of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway when a bus hit the man from behind, leaving him critically injured. M Ssajedur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
Locals rescued Zahirul Sheikh and took him to the 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
