Dhaka: Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed today urged all the officials and employees of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to concentrate on revenue collection while staying in their respective stations in the last few days left in the outgoing fiscal year (FY25).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Finance Adviser also invited the representatives of the BCS (tax) and BCS (customs and excise) cadres to sit with him tomorrow at 5:00 pm to discuss the already promulgated ordinance on the NBR, as stated in a Finance Ministry press release. The discussions aim to bring necessary changes to the ordinance by July 31, 2025, through consensus after resolving misunderstandings on the ordinance.

Earlier on May 12, The Revenue Policy and Revenue Management Ordinance 2025 was promulgated. Prior to this, the Council of Advisers decided on January 16, 2025, to split the revenue board into two separate divisions based on the submitted report by the Advisory Committee on NBR reforms.
