Jamalpur: A human chain was formed this afternoon at Islampur Bazar Railway Station in the district, demanding renovation of the Dhaka-Dewanganj railway line.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by the Islampur upazila and Poura units of BNP under the banner of Islampur Unnayan Forum. Former Cabinet Secretary and BNP Chairperson’s Adviser ASM Abdul Halim attended the programme as the chief guest.
During the event, speakers urged the authorities to extend the route of the Bijoy Express train up to Dewanganj Bazar Station. The programme saw participation from people across different sectors of society, emphasizing the widespread support for the renovation project.
